Lagos State Judicial Service Commission Organized a Written Examination for the Appt of Judges Held on 4th Nov, 2019 at PSSDC, Magodo

The Lagos State Judicial Service Commission recently organized a valedictory get-together in honour of its outgoing member, Mr. Ade Ipaye who is also the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

This is in appreciation of his immense contribution towards the upliftment of the commission in the area of policy making which has facilitated the emergence of high quality judicial officers in the state.

In her short remarks at the occasion, the Chairman of the Commission and Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade commended Mr. Ipaye for his dedication, commitment and other significant roles he had played in ensuring that stable and harmonious working relationship exist between the Executive and the Judiciary in the state. She described him as a man of wisdom which he had used at various occasions resolving issues amicably. The classic case in point was that of JUSUN strike which without his quick intervention would had caused rift between the two arms of government.

Speaking in the same vein, all the Commission members present at the event applauded the outgoing commissioner for Justice for his usual intelligent contribution to issues during the Commission meetings. This according to them, has helped the body to arrive at the decision which could pass the test of time. Mr. Ipaye was described by his fellow commission members as an asset not only to the state Judicial Service Commission and the State Justice Ministry but a provide to the entire legal profession in Nigeria.

Joining others in eulogizing an erudite Attorney, advocate par excellence, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Ayodele Odugbesan extolled Mr. Ipaye’s uncommon virtues of humility, intelligence, simplicity, maturity and eloquence which he had displayed at different fora to the admiration of the people either as a member of the Commission or as the Chief – law officer in the state.

The Valedictory get-together was attending by the commission members, Mr. Taslim Animashaun and Mr. Folashade Iwajomo,  some principal officers of the judicial service commission who equally attested to Mr. Ade Ipaye’s sterling qualities.

Responding, Mr. Ipaye thanked the Commission for honour done on him in counting him worthy of being sent off in such an honourable way. He attributed whichever success he might have recorded to an enabling environment and the good people he had been working with.As he put it: you can hardly succeed in life without having good people around you.

He expressed his special appreciation to the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade for her exemplary leadership. He considered all encomia being poured on him as a challenge which would spur him further to do better whichever area of life he found himself in future.

Mr. Ade Ipaye, a legal icon, a former University don was appointed as a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Legal Matters. He thereafter became Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on Taxation and Revenue before being eventually appointed as the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in 2012 by virtue of which he became the member of the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission.
