About The Department
The Legal Unit of the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission is under the supervision of the Executive Secretary and also works in collaboration with the Administration & Human Resource department of the Commission.
Functions of The Department
In JSC, the department undertakes the following roles and responsibilities:

Petition Treatment
Ensuring speedy and efficient treatment of petitions written against Magistrates,Customary Court Members and any Senior Staff of the Judiciary.
02.
Recommendation
Recommending and advising the Commission by making reference to applicable relevant laws, rules and regulations after a careful review of petitions.
03.
Disciplinary Meetings
Attending Disciplinary meetings constituted by the Commission to investigate petitions.
04.
Court/Mediation Sessions
Attending court and mediation session on behalf of the Commission
05.
Miscellaneous
Attending to any other matter that the Commission may consider relevant which is in the best interest of the Commission
